When a person is arrested (booked into the Navajo County jail) or cited in Winslow their case will either be set in the Winslow City Court, which handles misdemeanors, or the Winslow Justice Court, which handles felonies.
If a person charged with a Misdemeanor their case will stay in the Winslow Muncipal. Misdemeanor charges can include but not limited to: Personal use of marijuana, Drug paraphernalia Driving Under the Influence DUI (impaired to the slightest degree) Extreme DUI or Aggravated DUI, Domestic violence, and theft.
A person being charged with a Felony will appear before the judge for their inital appearance and a bond setting. If the judge or Grand Jury finds that the suspected perpetrator committed the crime, a criminal “indictment” (charging document) is signed and an arrest warrant or summons to appear for arraignment is issued for the person to appear in the Navajo County Superior Court for an arraignment.
